Code Operated Locks

Hmm that is a bit worrying when you have a letterbox, I didnt realize they did that. Same thing with thumb turn locks.

It maybe worth fitting one of those cages on the letterbox if that is the case.
 
nflowers you make some good points however the inside handle actually has a button on it which needs to be pressed before the handle can be turned.

If you imagine your hand on the handle the button is where your thumb might land. Its a mechanical button not an electrical one and so requires a small bit of force to press. I would go as far to say that the "coat hanger" trick would be close to impossible because of the button.
