Apparently referring to black people as ""coloured" is outdated and racist language...What is the correct term now then?

Lol..What's this doing in the gardening forum ? Is there something amiss in the woodpile ?
Apparently not...Calling black people black is wrong.Fullstop.These daysContext is king
But calling people - shaded people sounds daft - so just call them people.
If an entire office is full of white people, or full of black people, how would you point out an individual then...?How would you point out your black work colleague among a group to, say, a visitor to work?
"The bloke who's scratching his nose. Now! Just then! Oh, he's stopped now....."![]()
It really isn't.Apparently not...Calling black people black is wrong.Fullstop.These days
If an entire office is full of white people, or full of black people, how would you point out an individual then...?
Not anymore..Deemed RacistYou refer to black people as......... Black people
Ha. Cop out!I'd cross that bridge when I came to it.
Ha. Cop out!
"talk to Colin - the chap over there, wearing the red tie, blue trousers".
Job done.
There are always something different about people. Shoes, size, hair as well as you say, actions at that moment. "Colin standing by the door' etc. Anyway....Not at all ; work uniforms?
Actually, I was going to edit my reply to "I'd say" Him over there, scratching his nose. Now! Oh, he's stopped now...... ", but got embroiled in a work call.![]()
