Had an engineer out today and boiler had L2 lockout. He did exactly what i thought, changed the gas valve, changed Flame sensor, checked the ignition and spark. Then gave up and suggested tryng a new heat exchanger and pcb board
Basically a right off due to cost then.
Before this is done any other engineer have any thoughts on this, i suspect its def not heat exchanger, but wouldnt be suprised if the pcb had something to do with it. The engineer called a few others and said its all calling and firing just not staying alight and the blue ignition ligth isnt even lighting. They had told him to do what he already done and didnt come up with any other idea.
Also any idea if a typical install cost to swop a combi for a combi as Ideal will supply a discounted one but said it would need to be fitted correctly by an engineer (gas safe) which is obvious. May have to supply a new through the roof flu also which no idea on costs.
Any thoughts welcolme
