Hello.

Not sure if anyone can help. I purchased a new house which has a “ideal” combi boiler, and a wireless thermostat.

Been trying to work out how it works. We have had the system heating up fine and timer controlling boiler. However when the boiler says its in central heating mode with no demand. The Gas box clock still seems to be ticking over slowely. E.g the last number is still turning.

Is this meant to happen. When I knock boiler in to summer mode (central heating off) The gas clock does not move

Sounds like a fault and perhaps a safety related one.

I suggest you get someone under the warranty!

when i turn it onto winter mode it does cut out.

do you think it may be leaking gas ?

If the meter is moving, then gas is going somewhere, so either the boiler is firing (burning) or there is a leak, unlikely as the meter stops when you switch the season selector - are the radiators getting warm when this happens??

yes the rad are warm. must be a problem with temp control.

for time being can i just turn boiler on and off using season control ?
