I have a halstead quattro/wickes combi 2000,the hot water temp is low..with c/h off,h/w tap on..boiler will light and stay lit,but water is cold. With c/h on..h/w tap on water is hot for 10 seconds..then is warm(not hot enough for a bath)c/h works fine, water pressure is fine, boiler runs at 1 bar
Thanx for your reply, oilman.Do you mean the divertor valve?,I have checked that, the plunger moves up,and stays up when the h/w tap is on,then drops down when tap is off,any more suggestions, cheers
Still sounds like diverter valve. With everything cold (!) turn a hot tap on and grope the pipes under the boiler. One of the fat ones will be the flow pipe - written underneath usually. If the flo gets hot , it's the DV which isn't steering boiler water to heat the hot tap water. Can happen even if the shaft IS moving.
Does that valve feed water to the heat exchanger? I don't know anything about gas boilers, but I was thinking there might be a motorised valve Looks a bit like this
