Combi in Loft space

My neighbour is having his 1940's semi refurbished. He is considering having a Combi in the loft and using the existing chimney stack for the flu. Is this feasible & where do you run the condensate drain.

Very few boilers will be able to have flue system that uses existing chimney and then they will be very expensive , very simple to take flue out through tiles.
Condensate can be run into the guttering

Are you sure of that? Thought that condensate had to go into soil drain.

Its a little questionable but if the house is on a single combined soil and storm drain then its probably OK if the rainwater system is in plastic.

A 1940s house would usually be on a single drainage system but that cannot be assumed!

I've done this several times where no other option exists. It will be well diluted down.

As long as the end doesn't rest in the water in the gutter to freeze there will be no problems.

Giblets no it does not have to be soil drain but as agile has said it cannot go into a solely rainwater system,
But if that was the case then a condesafe could be used which neutralizes the condensate and cost £20
