Combi Problems

Can anyone help we have been without heat in the house for a week we have a combboiler and it fires up ok but we are getting no heat from the radiators and when we put the taps on the water is luke warm for ten mins then goes cold. Please Please Please help it is flippin freezing in the North East at the moment the plumber thought it was the gas valve nothing doin

The pressure gauge is correct for the type of boiler

I think Montana was sugesting you check the reading on the pressure guage !. The make and model would be a bit of a help and what your plumber has done , or not.

The make of boiler is a worester heatslave 9.24 rsf the plumber thought it was a gas valve and fitted a new one but so far no joy any ideas would be welcome

Yes there is a buzzing noise coming from the boiler

Change the right hand board.

Before you spend on a new board test it first, most boilers of that age will buzz, if however DP is refereing to when the driver board produces a loud buzz/rattle from the gas valve area then disconnect one of the yellow leads going onto the gas valve modureg (low voltage spade connection ) and see if the noise stops if so then replace the board

Buzzing would be due to failed DC voltage. This causes the on board relay to chatter. AC at the mod coil results in weak burner and chatter of mod coil. To carry out a remote diagnostic (only way forward) is impossible. Suggestion is offered based on information provided.

Interesting ,but, you can test the board, i would not expect the avv visitor to the site to be able to so tend to stick to basics and as said changeinga 15 year old board because it buzzs is a bit extream,best to eliminate others first and the DC voltage is supplyd from the seperate transformer ,plus if you want a cheap way to fix a chattering modureg remove the board and warm it in warm room ,obviously not the cold customers and the board will generally spring back into life when re fitted, they dont seem to like the cold when old. PS ignore spelling, haveing a bad day

DP's cure is based on not a little experience COGs seems to be based on magic!!!

Or is he implying defective soldering could be the root cause and heating the board improves the connections?? Not exactly aprofessional approach and unlikly to bring a long term solution.
