Combination cylinder question..

Ignore earlier post as i wasnt sure what type of system i was referring to.

My question is:
Shoould there be insulation between the bottom and top tank on a combination cylinder?

Logic tells me that it should to prevent heatloss from bottom to top...but the one my da has appears not to have(basically its losing heat like crazy...it has a regular jacket covering th whole unit)

Im genuinely not sure as i havent actually seen it yet..was just talking to him over the phone about it.
If as you say the top of the water tank was full of air surely it would still lose heat a lot quicker than a conventional cylinder?

Yes, since Part L and many had it before.
