Composite door which is a about 3 years old is looking very tired.
There are white residue streaks down it and the protection film/gloss (?) is flaking a wearing away.

Is this normal for a door that supposed to be guaranteed for 10 years?
Can this be fixed easily?

Thanks

Faulty laquer and the complete door needs replacing, make the claim asap as there COULD BE exclusions as to whether sun damage is covered and over what period, and if they ask you if you've ever cleaned the door just say yes with warm water and johnsons baby shampoo(its weak) and if it doesn't melt your babies head then it should be fine on a door, if you'd said fairy liquid they'll find a reason for not using it

Totally agree with Crank , thats the laquer peeling off, so new door sash required. We have replaced a few of these under warranty , safe doors being the worst culprit by a long way ( I'm sure others probably do it) . We changed away from Safe Doors as a supply for this very reason , and theirs always went at about 3 yrs old too

Most insurance policys won't cover this fault, I've surveyed lots of doors with the same fault and they've been rejected

Agree with last post by kev515.

Insurer will recoil and say faulty manufacture or defective design

If you still have original paperwork about the doors that clearly state a 10 year guarantee may be worth going back to the maker?

If that bounces you could try Trading Standards? and Citizens Advice? to get back at the manufacturer of a "Faulty product"
