Hi
I've got a composite door that has 4 hinges. I've noticed that the top hinge has a bolt sticking out the top of it, which I'm pretty sure didn't used to be there, so I'm thinking its worked itself loose over time. It is pushed the plastic cover up and is sticking out the top of the hinge by about 10mm or so. If I open the door it looks like this hinge isn't actually supporting the door, there is enough slight movement of the door so see the part of the hinge that's attached to the door moving relative to the part that's attached to the frame.

I thought I'd have a go at tightening this up but none of my spanners fit the outside of it and none of my allen keys fit into it. Now this could be that maybe my tools are metric and this thing is an imperial size but I just wondered does anyone know if these things require some special tool?
I'm afraid I don't know what manufacturer it is from.

Any advise would be appreciated, door is ok for now as the other 3 hinges seem to be doing the job but I'd like to fix it before it gets any worse

cheers

It looks like the pin just needs knocking back down into the hinge.
Slide a hammer down to knock it back in.

Open the door, look at the back of the hinge, there should be a tiny grub screw, this tightens onto hinge, I guess this has been left loose, if not then loosen it with a 2mm allen key, tap the hinge pin down and retighten grub screw and your good to go
