I've used a compressor for years without know much about them...

The other day the regulator on mine got a smack and broke off. I've removed the broken bits from the tank output port and obtained a new wall-mounted one. The trouble is that I'm not sure how to connect the two together.

The issue is that the port on the compressor tank is a lot bigger than the "usual" 1/4BSP ports on the equipment and hose connectors. It measures about 5/8" across. I'm not sure what I need or what I'm searching/asking for. Any help appreciated.

Beat me to it :p
Machine Mart have the bits you need, if thats more convenient - they are called reducing bushes and reducing nipples.
Don't use Machine Marts air hose though - truly dreadful :(
John :)

I take it from this that the offending hole is 3/8BSP then? That would be the vital bit of info I was missing. Thanks guys :p

3/8 to 1/4 reducing nipple bought down at Machine Mart. Problem solved.

Well THAT problem solved. I just noticed that the thin tube for the (I think) unloading valve is damaged. Now all the fun and games of find the bits to replace that
