Concealed Cistern obscure fill valve

Hi, long term user of this site, but first time poster. Retrospective thanks to all who didn’t know how much they helped me with past projects.

Now I’m stuck and can’t see anything similar on here or the rest of the internet!

Simple issue - concealed cistern with a fill valve not shutting off. Easy fix, right? I’ve removed it and cleaned it a few times, with short term success, but I know a diaphragm washer change is the solution. No - my concealed cistern innards appear to be obscure enough that no spares exist, only the full valve set up on one website at £60+ (Malta Mk2 valve).

Noticing there are multiple fill valves on the market at £10-£15, I’m keen to replace the set up with a serviceable valve.

There are two toilets in the house with this same set up, and the other one is already on the same journey.

The main issue is that the valve clips to the back right of the cistern on a bracket that is screwed in from behind. The valve is attached to the inlet through the top left, via a flexi hose.

I’m looking for a replacement valve that will either fit the existing clip (unlikely) or attach on its own clip and bracket system. Options to drill holes will be limited due to lack of space behind the cistern. I think the clip will come away from the existing valve, so there might be an option to clip it to another valve, but I’m sceptical that unicorn valve exists.

I’ve attached photos here of what I have, and I’m really hoping somebody has a solution that doesn’t involve £120+ instead of a couple of washers!

That diaphragm looks similar to commonly available ones. You might be lucky in finding a third-party one which fits. Failing that, I'd be making some sort of alternate support for a readily-available type of side-entry fill valve.

That diaphragm looks similar to commonly available ones. You might be lucky in finding a third-party one which fits. Failing that, I'd be making some sort of alternate support for a readily-available type of side-entry fill valve.

Thanks, it does look similar and that was my first port of call. I picked one up that looked the same, but that diaphragm was just a little smaller and therefore useless (see attached photo).

I had thought about wedging something inside to keep a new valve steady. That will likely be the last option. Swallow the cost of the worlds most expensive valve, or Heath Robinson it ….

Thanks. I think it might be the same but without the clip. If it was and the clip was interchangeable, that might be the solution. I’ll have another look when I’m back on the computer.

Look's like you can only buy on the eBay store as website is being updated although and I can't find it.
You will need to reach out to them.
Because it is a proprietary spare part manufactured exclusively for the Highlife WYE and Malta concealed cisterns, Pipescenes is the sole direct-to-consumer online stockist.


Only other way is to buy another brand and get the zip ties out to secure it I guess.
