I have a large concrete drive which is solid although bloody ugly and holds water in a couple of spots.
Can I cover it with tarmac and if so how deep would it need to be concerned about height to lawn and DPC against the house.

Get the Paddys in mate.
They'll make it 'a bit ticker at de hedges' and you can pay 'em in Guinness

Oh, and make sure youv'e got two packets of polo mints for them to crush up and sprinkle over the surface for that white speckeldy look.

you can cover concrete with tarmac provided you lay down the correct thickness layers and a binder is used to prime the concrete.

a 50mm+ thick sub layer and 20mm wearing course is fairly normal.

anything less is likely to break up.
