I am preparing to widen my driveway, I have MOT on order, and have broken house bricks, can I mix these together for the base before concreting?. I have been told its no problem by my local aggregates supplier and told either use hardcore or MOT but not both together by a local contractor.

use brick ends in the bottom and finish with mot.
the mot can be shaped and compacted and will be better suited to the task without the hindrance of large brick ends.
all hard core should be sulphate free.
