Concrete Lintel which way up ?

Hi all

We will be putting in the concrete lintel for the garage door opening this weekend and i am wondering which way up it should go (there doesnt appear to be any markings). The ends show 3 bars, 1 in the middle and another 2 at 1 end. I would expect the 2 bars to sit at the bottom as thats where the shear is right ? Can someone confirm this for me thanks.

Normally they have "top" painted on the top.. course some can go either way up.. but yer the reinforcement should be at the bottom..

The lintel should be walled with the two reinforcement bars, that are side by side facing the bottom.

It is a while since i have seen pcc lintels with "top" printed in them.

The ones currently available (local to us) seem to have a single re-bar in the center and can be fitted either way.
