Hi can anyone help, i am building a wooden workshop in my garden 3.5 x 5.7 mtrs and am very confused over the size of base required,
I will be pouring over an existing base used for a patio which i dont think will be strong enough but am unsure as to the thickness i need and the mix ratio of cement to ballast required,
can anyone offer any usefull advice please?

Thanks.

Yeah, if you build a base that is bigger than the shed and it is above ground level, be prepared for water ingress at the 'toe' junction, unless you robustly protect the toe from the weather.

The (better) alternative is to dig strip foundations and build a brick base actual size, up to floor level and build your shed off this.

P.S. 3.7m x 5.7m by say 150mm thick would require aboot 6 tonnes of ballast and a tonne of dust i.e. 40 x 25kg bags of cement.
