Our electrics tripped yesterday and everything went off. We switched all the individual switches back on and the one for the upstairs plug sockets wouldnt come back on - even when we'd unplugged and turned off everything upstairs. We were ready to ring an electrician today, but tried it and it let us turn it back on. Everything is now plugged back in and working and it hasnt tripped again.

Any ideas whats going on? Im more concerned that something is now dangerous..

Okay thankyou. We are renting so cannot get in touch with the estate agents until tuesday due to bank holiday. Is it likely to be dangerous in the meantime or would it just trip again?

was it wet yesterday? and windy too?

it probably blew some water into something..
got any outside lights?

Regardless of the Merits of it, in reality most people will disregard the first occurrance and only react after several similar problems......That said ,the safest bet is to report it to your landlord or Agent at the earliest opportunity.....and it wouldnt be a bad idea to keep a written copy of the report either ;)
