My electrics on the kitchen ring circuit kept randomly tripping we unplugged everything and turned all the switches off and still keeps tripping straight away or within about 10 minutes. we plugged fridge and freezer into the front room and the kitchen still keeps tripping. what could be causing this?

Are you sure the ring only feeds the kitchen and that everything is unplugged or isolated via a double pole switch?

Also, have you had any electrical work carried out recently?

Double pole switch? everything is unplugged and and switches are all off. havent had any work doing we are private renting and if it a fault oh ours we've got to pay so wanted to sort of know what it could be to know if we need to pay. It's only for the kitchen all the others are working.

As long as you can be sure all you appliances on that circuit are not plugged in and causing the fault and you have not screwed or nailed into the walls causing damage to cables. eg hanging a picture etc. then it is unlikely you will be charged.

Another point to consider is if you have accidently got water into any of the sockets or switches next to the sink for example?

I have seen it in the past where people have boiled a kettle below a wall unit and the steam have condensated and ran down the tiles into a socket resulting in the operation of the circuit breaker or RCD.
