"What a great idea I have," says the wife, "let's change the sockets in the kitchen".

I have complied with said request but now the cooker does not work yet the socket attached to the cooker does. I have copied the previous connections and really can't see that I've done anything wrong. Why won't the oven/cooker work?

If you have ANY ideas I'd be very grateful.

Thank you in advance.

bad connection, or if you mean to say the cookers clock is on, but the oven wont work, you have to set the cooker clock's time.

Check you've power into the cooker. If you have then the cooker probably has a timer or clock/etc which needs resetting.
Best of luck

Have you at least tested said sockets with a plug-in tester to make sure of correct connections?

In other words, you haven't wired it like this.....
