HI,

thanks in advance for those who reply.

We have a gas hob with a single built in electric fan oven.

2 weeks ago the electric spark for the gas stopped working. The cooker may have also stopped working at this point but Im but 100% sure, however, on return from holiday the oven had deffo stopped working.

Done a bit of fault finding which has confused me a little hence this post.

Checked the fuses, they appear in order.

Tried the cooker wall socket (45a and 13a socket) with another electrical item which failed to work.

Plugged the gas hob sparky electrical cable into another nearby socket by means of an extension cable, it worked. Tried the same with the cooker, no power.

Checked the wiring on the cooker wall socket, all ok.

Swapped the cooker wall socket with a new one, results all as above.

Kinda at a loss. Any suggestions gratefully received.....

If you require any clarification please ask.

Thank you

Daren

So the Cooker Control Unit (isolator) does not work neither does the socket outlet that is with it?
Does the unit have neon lights, if so do they work?
Is your cooker a plug in or hard wired?
If a flex with plug, have you checked the fuse in the plug?
Do you have any test equipment such as a multi-meter?
You have checked the the breaker/fuse at the consumer unit and that is okay, does it have RCD protection too?
Is there anything else off?
Is there any fused connection units on the circuit?

So the Cooker Control Unit (isolator) does not work neither does the socket outlet that is with it? Yeap, thats correct. Neither working.

Does the unit have neon lights, if so do they work? No neon lights on it.

Is your cooker a plug in or hard wired? Plugged into the isolator.

If a flex with plug, have you checked the fuse in the plug? Sorry, yeah, checked both plugs (cooker and gas hob sparky).

Do you have any test equipment such as a multi-meter? No, sorry. More than happy to buy one if this helps with solution/fault finding.

You have checked the the breaker/fuse at the consumer unit and that is okay, does it have RCD protection too? Yeap, all seems ok in the box.

Is there anything else off? Nothing at all which really confuses me. As does the gas hob electric spark working in another socket but the oven not?!?

Is there any fused connection units on the circuit? Sorry, bit unsure what Im looking for on this one.

Thank you for the reply so far, its appreciated. Daren
