I am replacing an existing kitchen sink, and current connection for the tap tail is solder joint to a T connection, that also then feeds the main supply to the tank (and also directly connects to mains inlet).
The current connection is too messy to just cut out and replace with a T compression joint (I think I will end up having to cut back the tank feed and inserting additional connectors), so I am considering cutting the existing tail a few centimeters above the existing T joint, and using a flexible connector directly to the remaining piece of the old tail. This means I can leave other pipework untouched.
Are there any draw backs to this approach?
Skills fall short of soldering, so compression or push fit the options available to me.
