Connecting an existing outbuilding to a new one

I have an outbuilding in my garden already, I'd like to make a small building to the back of the existing one and "connect" the 2 together. The reason for this is so that I can take a door out of the wall and have access to the new room behind. The new roof will be flat and the existing one is pitched. Ive attached some pictures to make it clearer. But I'm unsure how to do the roof and make it safe/water tight at the same time. Should I be taking some of the tiles off the existing building and converting the roof into 1 roof, should I be putting a gutter between the 2 buildings (this doesnt seem like a good idea to me) or any other ideas? Also mention that the height has to be the same as the existing building, its already built quite low so I cannot make the new one lower.

What do you mean by small? Are you talking about having it a different length to the current one. Some proposed dimensions might help

You could have a flat roof which just tucks under the existing roof tiles, and divert the gutter around the new roof.

If the new roof 'eats in' to the existing roof tiles then you will need flashing where the two meet, at the top and both sides.

If wall plate heights are to be the same, then removal of tiles, eaves cradling, fascia, gutter etc, is inevitable.
