Hi, I am getting my garage converted into a bedroom and bathroom , I've been quoted and am happy, I wanted to do part myself which I'm thinking of doing the soil pipe from the toilet to the existing concrete manhole, I just am not sure if it's possible or if anyone has any better ideas! I will attach pictures so you get the job.. I've been quoted 1600 for this job and I have some time on my hands and thought I could save some money.

cheers

You need to know if you need a bottom connection to the manhole chamber, if so then start digging.

jason clarke maybe you need a mental map of your drainage system before any digging.
In the first pic is the drainage in the manhole running towards the house or taking drainage somewhere else??
Where does the manhole drainage eventualy go to - where is the next manhole located - is it under a building?
You've got a down pipe with no gulley and a linear drain - do both these tie into the drainage from that manhole?
The manhole and its benching looks clean and the water is clear - perhaps you have seperate systems and that manhole is for rainwater and wastes only?
Where is your soil tack located?
