I have a problem with rainwater flooding a sunken paved patio. I would like to install a drain at the lowest point and run a pipe to a nearby gulley which has a kitchen waste running into it. Firstly, is this acceptable and, secondly, how to I connect to the gulley underground? The alternative expensive solution would be to raise the whole patio and slope it into three gulleys which exist at the back of the house (something which the original builder should have done). Any helpful suggestions welcome.

You need to install a new trapped gully and then either connect to the drain if it passes near or run a new section up to the existing gully where if you can't connect to the drain due to insufficient room, then break out the existing gully , install a T or Y junction and then put a new gully back in
