Connection to Meter.

I'm thinking about replacing my consumer unit with a bigger one.. but there appears to be no way of isolating thet unit from the meter. The meter was 'verified in 1985' can i get the electric board to test the accuracy of the meter and isolate the supply temporarily there?.. i thought they had to fit a secondary isolator these days?

depends who your REC is. contact them and ask if they can install an isolator between meter or CU. it is not recommended thst DIYers try to fit an isolator or pull the service fuse

Most REC's will pull the fuse AM and refit and seal PM if asked. This is a free service.

Once a new CU is fitted, what is the point of a secondary isolator?? It's just another loose link in a chain in my view.
