I am buying a bungalow in a few weeks.
it has a large conservatory on the side that i would like to use as the lounge, it's already got the roof insulated and fake tiles etc on so the roof is nice and warm etc.
it is glass windows all the way round, i would like to change 2 side walls to make it warmer, but am undecided on which was to go.
obviously money is tight due to just buying.
i have thought
brick it up, expensive & time consumining i'm not great at laying bricks
frame it and clad it with either timber or upvc easy and i can do it but unsure what to clad it with
any other ideas please?

Fibre cement cladding is likely the cheapest but may fall foul of permitted development rules, Materials used in exterior work to be similar in appearance to those of the exterior of the existing
house.
Building Regs would apply if you remove the door separating the conservatory from the house.

thanks the door will still be there so fine on that side.
i can always paint in white
i did think about covering it with the cheap soffit panelling as shiplap is expensive
but would need a good sub structure under the panelling

The dirty cheap option would be to take out the sealed units, measure their dimensions and thickness then replace them with panels of the same thickness. E.g. this sort of stuff...

It's a naff idea though. Much better to rough it for a while, save up then knock it down and replace it with a proper building.

Whatever insulation has been fitted in the roof will be less insulating than a real roof and proper loft insulation. It will be expensive to heat and probably never comfortable in the winter.

Re-think your plan, or possibly buy something else.
