Yesterday I removed a rad in order to remove wall paper, and then reconnected same, then topping up pressue on combi boiler, bleeding the rad etc. Later in evening noticed that there was a constant stream.trickle from the bath taps in the bathroom even when fullyclosed. There is also what appears to be a constant running/hissing noise in the pipes which are feeding the bath. The house at present is in the process of having loft converted with the inclusion of shower/ toilet facilities and as such pipework has been installed there but not yet connected to the facilities. I reduced mains pressure in attempt to resolve without success, any suggestion would be gratefully received

Removing and refitting a rad will have no effect on the bath taps dribbling. Sounds like a simple case of changing the tap washers.

Hi Dave, thanx for quick response, this fault has just suddenly happened. To make it even more strange about week ago this problem happened with the basin taps in bathroom, which are now ok,without having done anything to them. The bathtaps referred to in original post is oldstyle shower mixer type.

You could try turning the taps on and off several times quickly. This may budge a small bit of grit that may be stuck on the tap washer seat.

Did anyone use the main stopcock, i.e. before you did?

How did you reduce the pressure? Or, to put it another way, what did you do that makes you think that you reduced the pressure?

Hi Dave problem solved,it was in fact a tap washer on the verge of splitting in two. Thanks again for help,
