You may notice that the meter cupboard/board is enscribed the legend

"Reserved for board's equipment only"

That may stop you putting anything there..

This lot was suppling a comercial unit with 2 rate power about 30 Meters away from the servise head. (Please dont shout at me, we can debate the rights and wrongs of the install another day). I am just showing the OP what can go in there.

 
For a housing, I was thinking of something like this with a padlock:

Why the padlock, it has a standard viewing cabinet lock that the meter reader can access.

Personally if the OP buys the box it is his, so can, within reason, put whatever he wants in it!.

Other option is to build your own, possibly larger, box. If you want to fit a standard lock just buy a door and transfer the lock!
