consumer unit for garage

yeah you use a fully insulated one but it can crack when tighten up the gland. I was taught to use a metal enclosure so I thought I'll stick with it. I know there is a special nuts to get around this but nah. Keep it to what I used before. :D

Bit early in your career to stop using anything new, isn't it?

Nothing wrong with earth nuts.

Not that they do anything for the risks of cracking a plastic enclosure...

You would be limiting the total load on all of the sockets to 16amp.

Is that enough for your purposes?

Also, what is the CPD on the SWA feed to the garage?

So I take it the one am about to buy frm screwfix is the one to be used?

depends on whether that is the one you want to use I suppose. As long as it's fit for purpose there's nothing wrong with it.

I would personally go with an MK one and a Piranha nut but it's up to you

Thats ok then thanks. I was just making sure there nothing I've missed. Like the cu I picked up for the house wasn't a high integrity board. I made the stupid mistake of picking up the wrong cu as they were all on the same shelf. Also t the time I wasn't aware what the heck high integrity was

I'll get from LPD as they'll swap out breakers for me.
