do you have to use a fireproof board for mounting a cu , or can I use wood

If it is a new CU which is fully enclosed on the back then wood is fine.
If it is an old fuse box with an open back then it must be mounted onto something fireproof.

thanks , its a new unit, the old meter and fuse box are on wood and I wanted to know if I could mount it on the same panel.
