I need to fit a contactor to control the supply to a 32A ring final circuit for the purpose of entertainment noise control.
On the face of it a 40A nominal rated contactor would appear adequate but of course the 40A rating is dependant on the load being resistive, and the nature and size of the load plugged into a socket circuit cannot be predicted.
Rating the contactor for the worst case inductive load, I would end up needing a 100A nominal rated contactor, which seems a little excessive for a 32A circuit.
What would you guys do?

I would stick a 40 in, most pubs ive worked in, the cut off thing just works one twin rcd socket and ive yet to see one burn out yet, despite stacks of dodgy leads and adapters plugged into them
