We have a 20ft metal storage container at work which has been wired up with lighting and a twin socket.
The lighting is on a sensor so when movement is detected the lights come on. The lights are T5 weatherproof fittings fitted to the ceiling. The power supply is twin and earth fed through black flexible plastic ducting. This passes through the container wall and onto the outside wall of the building where it connects to white conduit. The lighting is fed via an RCD.
The socket is metaclad and is fed by what I believe to be hituff which is secured to the container with screws and cable ties. Looks rough as. The outside of the container has two long screws sticking out of the back of the socket too!
Anyway, that hituff passes through the container via a gland and through the building wall then into the DB. I believe the CPD is an RCBO. The gap is about 300mm between building and container.
Is there anything else that should be added to this installation? Earthing? The container must be earthed through the back of the socket, but is this enough?
OOI, the socket was fitted for a freezer, but the fridge company won't put a freezer in there due to ventilation. Fail.
