While Im at it on the kitchen questions.....

How do I go about wiring up my new extractor hood, do I need to run a spur off the ring main?

thats the best way mate.stick a 3 amp fuse in the spur

what cable should I use for the spur?would 2.5 mil do?

2.5mm to feed spur,then 1.5mm up to hood.
