Recently bought a cooker hood thought that it would be a plug in unit.
Just read the instructions for installation, they say that this is a "2 core mains cable" can this be fitted to a regular plug it also says that a double pole switch should be installed. Do I need to do this or will a regular plug do the job please help John!!

Should go on a dp switch this swithes both the live and neutrals. Take the socket off (if single) and replace with a switched fused spur unit.

You can plug it in if you MUST though, make sure the flex is kept short so it doesnt fall in your gravy or melt on a gas hob etc

Much neater to do as suggested above though.
