Is there anything wrong with extending my cooker radial to a 3A FCU to run a 150W cooker hood?

yes there is, asuming you have an electric cooker.

as you must use the same size cable to make a spur, how are you going to get 2 6mm cables into the cooker conection unit.

not to mention its bad practice.

why not just plug in your cooker hood via the cooker "socket"

because it might only be a switch?

and if the FCU is next to the socket, then i dont really see a problem with sin 2.5 T&E to link cooker point to FCU...

so what do you say when some one posts that you said it was ok, and they dont mention the fcu is say 2 feet away?

there is only one rule, same size cable for a spur as supply cable, end of.

I must admit i agree with breezer in principle. i managed to terminate both 6mm's in the ccu so i'm happy.
