Cooker Wiring and future proofing

It's 3.1 kW, so very borderline. A cooking device is assumed not to operate at full load.

However, I would prefer to use a 20 amp switch, with a 16 amp RCBO, the RCBO being the only protective device.

13amp fused spurs operating at full load do tend to turn to toast despite their rating, so would prefer a 20 amp switch.

So, as far as future proofing goes, you may have to change the 16 amp RCBO for something larger in the future.

You may be able to use a 32 amp RCBO and a 50 amp switch (for future proofing) but it may breach the manufacturers instructions if they request a 16 or 13 amp protective device.

Making sure the lead on the appliance is hefty enough may help to satisfy that a larger RCBO is adequate.
