Probably been covered before, but I'm new and would welcome any advice.

I want to move a free standing cooker supply from one side of the room to the other for an elctric oven and electric hob.The current supply (if you pardon the pun) is fed by a cooker socket that has 2 x switches (1 for the socket and 1 for a connection for a 13A plug (i.e. a toaster). How do I split it for 2 x sources at the otehr side of the room?

You will need to move the cooker switch unit (if this is what you mean by "cooker socket") over to the new cooker location, and take 2 cables from the load side of the switch to 2 cooker outlet plates behind the oven. Then connect the hob and oven to these.

By the way, not all ovens require connecting to a dedicated cooker circuit. If it is rated total less than 3.1KW, it can be connected to a standard socket or fused connection unit on a ring main. The hob still needs its own supply if it is electric.

dont forget about part p etc
