Correct material for plastering/skim plasterboard

I had a go on my first dot and dab for my boiler cupboard ready for plumber to come dowm and first fix.

Considering there is no multifinish plaster at moment all around the country.

can I plaster/skim the plasterboard directly with bonding 60 of british gypsum or ideally need to wait for a first layer of multifinish?

Will you be painting the Finished wall?
I found recently that I was playing around whilst bonding a bathroom wall, and I got it really flat and smooth, it was almost a shame to skim over it. I imagine if painted or papered it would look just as good as if skimmed.

You reckon I can use it without the multi plaster as first coat?

If you mix your bonding fairly thin then why not give it a go? If you balls it up, then just wait for the multifinish to come back in stock so you can go over the bonding with a proper skim finish.

Bonding contains much bigger bits of vermiculite/perlite than multi, I know it can feel really smooth if you trowel it flat but if painted with light across it, it’ll look nothing like a properly skimmed wall. You’ve got more chance of easifilling the joins.
