In the process of taking down lath and plaster to put insulation into the attic rooms, have noticed a number of tears to the roofing felt. No evidence of any leaks (even after today's weather!), but plenty of disused wasp nests. I'd like to fix the tears just to keep the bugs out and generally do a tidy job. What is the best way to deal with this - the posts I have seen on here previously vary between 'anything that'll keep the birds out' to some complicated bitumastic paint process - anyone know of other options / materials?

(Am putting in another post about ventilation in the roof space as well ;) )
