Dear experts, could you please advise - I tried to replace the DP switch in the bathroom with a wifi dimmer (without neutral), but without success and even the switch lost its function. Please take a look at the diagram. switch d.jpgI have a few questions:
1. Wires 1 and 2 show “Live” when the power is on... As I know the blue wire with brown sleeving is the Switch Wire so why it is Live?
2. All Earth wires are connected OK, all N wires are also connected unchanged. But which brown wire should go to IN and OUT?
3. finally - how I can use the dimmer switch - pic 2.

brown wire in out - assuming connected up with colours IN MIND - which I dont suppose it has been - Brown is live and blue with brown sleeving is switched live - BUT it really is 50/50 if thats what the electrician or DIY did

Often those pens give a false reading , so i would not take any notice of those , a multimeter is what i would use

even the switch lost its function.
so putting th eold switch back exactly as it was - it does not work - did you take a photo of the switch wiring before disconnecting

where are the wago's what do 3,4,5,6 do - ???

you have 4 lights in the bathroom

are they all connected to the Netural wago and then the 4 brown wires - if so - then you need a junction box - which has live from the consumer unit/other light fittings and the switched live returning to a box for all 4 browns to switch the lights on off

based on this

the LIVE - if you can workk out which one it is - goes to "L" and then the return goes to "~"

BUT i would find out what you have done to stop the old switch working
and do you have a Multimeter ?

Thank you very much... For the Candeo dimmer, the wiring is clear.
Of course, I have a Multimeter. However, I lost the original connection to the switch - photo in the bottom right corner. Only one thing is identified - the blue cable to the N IN. Where to connect the L and the other brown ones - is the question. As for the indicator screwdriver, it clearly shows voltage on the blue and brown in and no voltage on the other brown ones. [-where are the wago's what do 3,4,5,6 do - ??? - there is no Wago, they were in switch]. I still don't understand why the blue one is “Live”.

No - but as you said its a LIVE or a switched LIVE

sorry i didn't see the image of the switch Dah!!!!!!

i dont understand that switch configuration maybe someone with a lot more experience / trade will answer

I assumed it was a one way switch - with Live in - Switched out - connected to the 4 lives 1 for each of the lights - Clearly NOT

seems to be some intermediate switch

Of course, I have a Multimeter.
i would always tend to use that - rather than a pen , i have had a shock when much younger using a pen that did not light up

Does the original switch also switch on the fan?

How do you plan to switch the fan on when the new switch is installed?

It looks like the fan was on too..... so is it possible to use a dimmer for the fan?

Also why do you want to dim the lights in the bathroom? I'd of thought you'd want them at full brightness

Thank you again. It was not my idea :( . Can you please tell me how to connect it back to a regular DP switch?
