I posted recently about replacing the motor in my extractor hood. There was a post made in 2018 which describes the problem and gives some tips that was very helpful here:

Unfortunately when I was taking the old assembly down to clean it, one of the connections came loose, and now I'm second guessing myself about the correct wiring when I get the new motor. These are 6 wire motors connected to a capacitor, and a switch which controls lights and three speeds.
I took some pictures before I took it apart for this very reason but of course the one wire out of the whole lot that came loose is the one tucked behind another wire that I can barely see. This is the picture below before the wire came loose. I think it's the brown wire from the motor and the blue wire from the power inlet that are connected together in the same hole which then goes off to the control box, but I thought brown and blue were big no nos to connect together so I just want to check.
I've connected the loose brown wire to where I think it goes and I've included another picture with it all apart so the connections are a bit clearer to see. Is it possible to confirm from this that the blue wire from the socket goes in the bottom terminal together with the brown wire from the motor and the brown wire from the power socket goes to the next terminal second from bottom? I'm presuming that brown from the socket must be live and blue is neutral. I've searched for a wiring diagram for the motor itself and I even still have the manual for the hood unit but I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere. I don't have a mustimeter but this might be the push I need to get one if it would help.
