Could This Door Fit?

Hi,

Could a 2' 6" standard internal door fit within a 790mm plaster finished doorway? Or would the minimum width have to be 830mm?

Could the frame/lining be recessed/trimmed to safely make it work? Would prefer fullest width door.

You could get away with a 25mm liner, so that’s 25 + 25 + 5 space to opening + 5mm margin for door = 60

Anything thinner than 25mm and there’s no meat for hinges.

790 - 60 is 730, so you would need to trim 16mm off each side of the door - which is possible for some doors but prob the door you’ve chosen it’s got a 10mm lipping so you would lose all that and more.

Nb my post crossed with Foxhole who sensibly suggested a timber door, which can be trimmed

Appreciated, would it be out of the realm to chase a bit into the wall either side to accomodate the 16mm needed? I have brick under a thin plaster coat on one side.
