The water that is in your hot water cylinder????? I have a new one fitted and somewhere the plumber had managed to cross the pipes which meant that my hot water tap in my kitchen was being fed that was meant to supply my rads.

You can drink the hot water from the tank if you like but it may not be very nice however as Kev is suggesting if you mean the water that comes from your boiler to heat up the cylinder then def not unless you have a stainless steel stomach and titanium back side.

Would it actually be posionous???? seriosuly thinking about taking Wa***ns to court. My kids were drinking that water for at least two months and i have no idea whats in it.

I would guess that they put some chemical in the cylinder when they install it?

Why would you drink water from the hot tap anyway? :?

Its a mixer tap and i have two kids who dont always run the cold tap for as long as they should!

The kitchen tap is on the main but the cold water only, the hot come from the heating system. Apparently they managed to cross the pipes under my kitchen unit. Dont know how, but they managed it.

Because they are tight like my ole dad.........he used to draw hot water for tea because the fire was always on heating the water and the kettle was electric

The cylinder is on the 1st floor. And i have no idea why the crossed pipe was found under one of kitchen units. The only tap that was affected by this was the hot water tap in the kitchen (only the hot water) it either came out very cloudy or very muddy as if the water contained rust or something worse, it also had a very strong chemical smell to it.

that has all the hallmarks of a primatic (single feed cylinder) with the bubble burst

and you should not dose any system with a primatic

It would be interesting to know exactly how you apparently came to engage these plumbers to replace your cylinder.

What was their status? Meaning are they from a reputable well established local plumbing firm and you know their names and addresses? Or did they just knock on your door looking for work and you only have a first name and mobile number?

Its difficult for me to immagine how anything under the kitchen sink would need to be touched when fitting a new cylinder.
