.................Florida! In 12 hours and 9 minutes (at the time of keying in)
my plane will be taking off for Florida and I hope and pray that the weather there will be a bit warmer and drier than its been here lately

It's July in Florida too bolo, I don't think you'll have a problem with being cold. Just hope the overhead fans are working in all of those queues you'll be standing in. You're a better man than I am putting yourself through all that at your age, I coldn't do it and I'm a fair bit younger than you. Good luck anyway, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Without wishing to sound like a serial curmudgeon, bolo, what's there to be exultant about? In a couple of days time you are going to be stuck on a beach with four and a half thousand fat people in bermuda shorts. Hardly one of life's aspirations, methinks? But, for all of my misgivings, I still wish you an enjoyable time. Oh, and try to get over to the Keys - that is to say if there is anything left after BP's shenanigans in the Mexican Gulf - they can be pretty spectacular. :)

Bolo.

would be interested to hear about your trip when you get back

Don't listen to the old killjoy. There's more to The States than just beaches. Got to be better than Cullercoats in July in the wind and rain. 8)

Have a great one!

Surely it'll be theme parks and roller coasters.. oh and the gridlock on the roads after the space shuttle takes off... we went to the coast the see the last one take off, and took 7 hours to get 60 miles back to our villa... every Floridian and tourist was on the road in a car in front of us !!!!!!

Enjoy............dont forget the 7 story water slides!!!!!

To watch at the bottom as the nice girls re-arrange their bikinis ( obviously of the correct age).

Brilliant holiday with 21 days of sheer bliss. Hotel messed up by initially giving us a room without a balcony for the first day but compensated with a complimentary buffet breakfast for the following 19 days saving us around $400 in all. Didn't even see a beach apart from the man-made ones at the theme parks. Didn't have time to look at the girls!

Don't put down the North East! Cullercoats was hot today! Walked all the way from Whitley Bay to Tynemouth to see the VW show. Nowt special but a canny day out and a canny walk along the sea front.

I've been to Florida (great place, loved it), but I also love my home town. We might not always get the greatest weather but we're Geordies man, we love it whatever the weather!

By the way, you'll have a great time Bolo.
