Covering wood

hi,

Not sure what they are called but the wood surrounds that my guttering fixes to are looking shoddy, I dont think a lick of paint will fix this. Are plastic covers a good idea? Does the wood need to be replaced or does the plastic cover and protect the wood?

Is this a job for a diyer? It’s around my kitchen so not up high at all.

Most Fascia Board fitters screw the Plastic Fascia straight onto the old wooden fascia, it should be simple to fix needs another set of hands though .
