As usual, the government's dead hand of incompetence is all over the decision not to provide EU citizens with proper paper documentation for those with settled status (all other EU states issue residency permits/biometric cards to UK subjects) - leaving them to rely on computer systems and smart (dumb) phones. The incompetents are better at stopping foreigners with a legal right to be here at the border than they are at stopping illegals clinging to dinghies.
And the vax passport enthusiasts are going to trust the government and bureaucrats with their personal info and possibly their ability to travel, go to events, maybe the pub - or do many of their ordinary functions in life.
Come on! Think about it. Governments involved in huge, expensive and complex IT systems that you're then willing to let control your life. Do people really learn nothing from recent history? "Computer says no!!" Will people ever learn? Can they be that naive?

There's nothing illegal about crossing the channel to claim asylum in UK. It doesn't matter whether you cross on a ferry, by plane, or by small boat, you still have to arrive in UK to claim asylum.
We cleared that misconception up weeks ago. But you still resort to stating it as the truth. It's not.
There's nothing illegal about crossing any stretch of water to arrive in another country to claim asylum, however you travel.
Dangerous - probably. Risky - probably. Illegal - no!
