I have ordered Pro-cove Lite polymer coving.
It is 82 mm x 82 mm.
When I look for a mitre box or tool for coving they seem to be for other sizes.
Would I be able to use a mitre box or tool for, say, 127 mm coving to cut something smaller or does it need to be for the exact size?
Thanks,
S

The problem is one of getting the coving square in the box/equal out, as up. If you can find a suitable bit of timber, the difference between 82mm and 127mm, 45mm - you could insert that as a spacer, to get it accurately in place for cutting.

I forgot to add... don't forget that you will be cutting the coving upside down if using a box. When doing mitres, I would do a rough angled pencil mark on the underside edge as an aide memoire. The underside edge should be facing upwards.

You are only cutting through "foam". The saw will be pushed forwards, meaning that the coving will not move whilst cutting. If you use tape with pencil lines in a mitre box it should be pretty straight forward.
