Was the coving put up to hide the cracks because the ceiling is constructed incorrectly and thus the original owner got fed up of patching the cracks?
Or, was the coving always part of the design so the builder never took the time or effort to finish the joint properly?
Redoing a ceiling isn't quick or easy or cheap.
Howcome the wall joints are open as well?
What is going on in the room?
