Cracked glaze on pipe

It is the pipe running through the manhole, just near the house carrying kitchen and bathroom waste water.

It is an open top pipe not a closed pipe with a crack in the top. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

It`s a channel then ;) ... not worth doing anything to it . it`ll be bedded onto concrete anyway. Just put the lid back and forget it

I agree. If you were to do any work on this channel then you would need to replace, otherwise good words from Nige.

Lowering the tone  ;) . In fact the uric salts would have done a better job of sealing it  . I have seen a whole 4 inch pipe blocked with " limescale" from a Factory Urinal that the flush had been turned off  . And I had to remove a 4mm encrustation from my Plastic underground pipes here @ home ... not mine, I might add. But 15 years at least of previous owner.
