Couple of questions on same topic.

When boarding up to an existing wall or ceiling what do you do about skrimming? Can I use jointing tape which will be covered on the new wall by the skim and on the existing wall use easifill to hide the tape edge?

Where I have existing cracks where walls and ceiling meet can I cover the cracks with jointing tape and use easifill to blend out the tape edges?

ceiling p/boards are best slightly sunk into any abutments ie. solid plaster walls.
but i dont know the extent of what your proposing to do - so posting pics would help to answer your questions.
given you intend to do some skimming then why the Easifill on the tape?

Easi-fill on the existing walls then can be sanded to blend in.
Even better remove approx 150mm finish from existing walls, apply scrim then easi-fill.
